BTW, American Idol
My favorite guy is now Jason Castro. I don't know if that will change, but for now, he's my favorite, well, him and David Archuletta for the sheer adorableness factor. As for the girls, I'm liking Carly, Kady, Alaina (only because she's a carbon copy of Carrie) and Asia'h.
The Mall

Well, we took Katie to the Picture People at the Valenica Mall. We weren't planning to. We were looking for an Easter dress and they gave us a coupon for a free 10 x 13. The pictures were random, because we weren't anticipating having any taken, but I think they came out really cute. I think her eating cereal is just adorable. There were so many more poses of her eating, that kinda of told a story, but Heather and I weren't planning to spend the money. They are going to have the Easter Bunny there soon, so hopefully, we can take David and Hannah with us for those. I had a nice time with Heather. Katie went around in her car and rode on the carousel. Everyone in the mall kept stopping to say how cute she was. Katie loves being in her car. Heather got a couple of pictures of her on the carousel. She didn't find a dress though. Everything seems to be sleeveless this year, and more like a summer dress than an Easter dress. The bst part of the day was actually just spending time with my two favorite girls.

American Idol Top 24
So, I definately think it's going to be a guy's year. They have a great group this time around.Girls: Carly Smithson - She is the Irish girl. I love her voice. I think she's the best of the girls. Her boyfriend is completely covered in tattoos, which might hurt her. People might think she's too weird. I don't know. She seems like a nice person. She had a recording contract before, but she never sold any CDs. Less than 1000. I think with AI exosure, she could do well.
Amanda Overmyer - I love her voice, but yeah, I agree with Simon. Every song will sound the same. I thought she might do good in Country though. She kinda has that Gretchen Wilson thing going. She may surprise us. She's a nurse, so she's not stupid. She may go far. She is the one who survived a car accident.
Kristy Lee Cook - Now, she's beautiful. More so than Carrie Underwood, I believe. She got a lot of air time. I expect her to go far. According to Google, she signed with Arista Nashville and Brintey Spears' production company Superstart Spears in 2001 when she was 17. She released a CD called "Kristy Lee" in 2005. She was managed by the former manager of LeAnn Rimes.
Brooke White - My mom loved her. She is the blonde with wavy hair. She played the keyboard during auditions. She has a nice voice, but she looks to me, out of place in the "pop" culture. Her claim to fame is that she's never watched an "R" rated movie.
Alexandrea Lushington - She is 16. She reminds me of Tyra Banks in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She's very manly, in my opinion. I wasn't a fan of hers.
Ramiele Malubary - She's Filipino American. American Idol is HUGE in the philiphines so that may get her a lot of votes. I hated her voice. She's a pretty girl, but I don't think she should have gone through. She may have gone though simply based on her ethnicity.
Syesha Mercado - In the summer of 2006, she was a contestant on ABC’s “The One: Making a Music Star”. Unfortunately, ABC canceled “The One” after 4 episodes. It had the distinction of having scored “the second-lowest audience ever for a premiere episode on a major U.S. broadcast network”. She's a beautiful girl. She could be a model but I don't like her voice.
Kady Malloy - She is the Britney Spears impersonater. She would do great with young girls. She's very pretty and I think she has a nice voice.
Amy Davis - I honestly can't remember her. She may be one of the first to go. She's very pretty. Looks as though she has some Asian in her.
Alaina Whitaker - Just another cute blonde. I don't remember her
Asia'h Epperson - This is the one who lost her father on the way to audtions. I hated her performance but the judges loved it. I think she got through on the sympathy vote. She's talented, but not my favorite.
JoAnne Borgella - She's a beautiful girl. She seemed like she was screaming at the audition.
BOYS:
David Cook - Chris Daughtery's competition. He has a nice voice. Hate the hair side sweep. I think he'll definately make it to the top 12.
David Archeleta - Definately going through to the top 12. Great voice. Very sweet kid. One of my favorites. He is Mormon, so he will get a lot of votes there. Also, he won Star Search when he was 12. Those who remember him from Star Search will probably vote for him. He had vocal paralysis recently, but has since healed. He's already got a fan club, called the "Arch (Archeleta) Angels"
Danny Noriega - Most annoying guy for me. He just bugs me. Sanjaya repeat. He made it to Hollywood last year, but was cut. I wish he had been cut this year too. I would have perferred the Bill Gates look alike.
Jason Castro - played the love interest of Cheyenne on the MTV show "Cheyenne". I don't think he will be willing to cut those dreadful dreadlocks.
Luke Menard - Looks like an older Orlando Bloom. He was never showcased so I don't know anything about him.
Michael Johns - Loved him from the start. He's Austrailian and a former lead singer of a band called The Rising, changed his name from Michael Lee. He sang Bohemian Rhapsody and was awesome.
Garret Haley - WHO?
Jason Yeager - zero exposure on AI. Grew up singing in church. From there his love of music led him to competitions in school choir and then to performing at Six Flags over Texas for three years. He received a full vocal scholarship to Dallas Baptist University, and was a top 25 finalist on the ABC series “Making the Band”. We'll have to wait and see because he was totally left out during the auditions.
Robbie Carrico - In 2000, Robbie Carrico was a member of Boys and Girls United, a boyband which toured with Britney Spears in Europe. He could be handsome if he cleaned himself up. Right now he looks way grungy and won't be able to compete with the pretty boys.
Chikezie Eze - His name is fun enough to keep him in for a bit. It's fun just to say. He made it to Hollywood last year, but was cut. He is the only black male, so that may keep him in for a while, but he won't win, by any means.
David Hernandez - David Hernandez competed on Arizona Idol but he did not win. He reminds me of the guy from last year, who didn't make it to the final 12. Nick Pedro or something. He has a great voice, but I can't see "David Hernandez" on a pop cd.
Colton Berry - Active in community theater. I preferred Bill Gates. Looks like Ellen Degeneres.
Favorites: Carly, Kady, Michael John, David Archuelta

Spring
Spring is in the air and I love it! I went to Lowe's today to get some grass seed and grass fertilizer to fill in the bald patches. It's so nice out. I miss the sun. I cut back my roses and hope they start blooming soon. I wish I had the money to hire a landscapper to do my front yard really nice. I've wasted so much money trying to do things myself, only to have my plants die. I really would love to have some brick flower beds done up for me.
Katie has a sore tooth and it's given her such a fever. I feel sorry for her and Heather. Both of them are worn out from staying up all night. Katie hasn't slept much in two days.
I'm, God willing, going to trade my car in for a new one this month. Either another Fit, or the Toyota Scion. I'm not sure which yet. Both are good cars. I like my Honda, but the paint is thin on it. I like the Toyota Scions, but they didn't seem to hold their value as well as the Honda, so I'm kinda not sure which one.
Katie took her pictures yesterday. She was simply adorable in them. She had two cute pig tails in her hair. She's growing up so fast. I sure love her.

I swear! I'm not a Claymate
So, I was watching American Idol rewind yesteday, and let me first say, I am by no means, a Claymate. I didn't start watching American Idol until Season 5, so I never really saw Clay Aiken or Ruben or any of the others. I didn't even watch Kelly Clarkson's or Carrie Underwood's seasons, even though I love them both.
Well, I was watching AI rewind and they had the rejects up. They called it the last chance or final chance or something episode. They brought back people they had already sent home and each judge picked one person to come back, after an audition, and then a final 4th person would be chosen by the audience. So, all these people get up. There are like 10 or so. Carmen Rassmussen comes up and she is HORRIBLE, then it's Kimberly Caldwell, who sounds really, just okay, and then a girl named Temeka who sounds good, but keeps making strange faces and then anyway, all these non-memorable people and they can't sing, at least not professionally, and then Clay Aiken comes on to sing "Sun Going Down on Me" and he sings like he is a paid professional, doing it all the time, and his voice is as clear and effortless, and flawless as a CD, but Simon says he doesn't "look" like a pop star, although, he was the only one of the 10 who sang with confidence and really held himself like a "star". Simon chooses Carmen Rasmussen, because she's cute, Randy chose Kimberly Caldwell, and "Pauler" chooses Temeka. Well, of course, we all know America chose Clay, but omg. I just started laughing, because there was no competition. That's the same thing that happened to Elliott in Season 5. It was clear that Elliott had the best voice and should have won, but because he wasn't "pretty", he lost out to Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee.
Anyway, I just go to thinking, that's it's really unfair that people who are "pretty" are able to go further than people with great voices. I mean, Barbara Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin...none of these people are particularly good looking, and yet, they have some of the best voices in the industry.
Anyway, I don't know why I found it so amusing, but I did. I was home all alone, laughing at my t.v. screen, and afterwards I felt a little silly, but it really amazed me, that there was ever a question that Clay wouldn't be able to produce a CD.
