Childhood

Lyrics:
Have you seen my childhood?
I'm searching for
The world that i come from
'Cause i've been looking around
In the lost and found
Of my heart
No one understands me

They view it
As strange eccentricities
'Cause i keep kidding around
Like a child, but pardon me

People say i'm not okay
'Cause i love such elementary things
It's been my fate to compensate
For the child
I've never known

Have you seen my childhood?
I'm searching for
That wonder in my youth
Like pirates and adventurous dreams
Of conquest and kings on the throne

Before you judge me
Try hard to love me
Look within your heart
Then ask

Have you seen my childhood?
People say i'm strange that way
'Cause i love
Such elementary things
It's been my fate to compensate
For the childhood
I've never known

Have you seen my childhood?
I'm searching for that
Wonder in my youth
Like fantastical stories to share
The dreams i would dare
Watch me fly

Before you judge me
Try hard to love me
The painful youth
I've had
Have you seen my childhood

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (1983) [Motown 25 Live]

Summer of 1983. I was 14. Michael Jackson was King. The Moonwalk had never been seen before. He was magic.

Michael Jackson Died Today

He was 50 years old. He died of Cardiac Arrest. I grew up with Michael Jackson and loved his music. I'm sad for his family and for his children. I believed him when he said that he liked spending time with children because they didn't want anything from him like adults did. I couldn't believe the accusations made against him and still don't.
In the 80's I spent so many hours listening to his music at Mountain View park, watching his Thriller videos on MTV and trying to dance like him.
He was an icon and he will be missed.

Barrel Springs Road

We took the kids to Barrel Springs tonight to let them get out. We had so much fun with them. They had some crackers and gummies for snack.

The trail is 1.5 miles each way. The kids mostly sat in the wagon, but they also got out and walked a bit, looked for rocks, and flowers.

It was a really nice night. Breezy and cool. David and Katie with their snacks

She rocks.
Mary pulling them up the trail
Mary, running down the hill
They thought it was so funny
Here they go
They had so much fun
Me running down with them
speeding it up a notch
They liked going fast
My mom, acting silly
Picking wild flowers

going back up the hill
The view from the top
My mom, at the top of the hill

It was beautiful at the top. The Fin & Feather Club is where the water is. Down the hill is a farm with horses. Right before the water is Sierra Highway.
Coming down the hill
David decided to randomly give Katie a kiss on the cheek
They are excited about finding rocks and each of them are trying to prove how strong they are by holding the rocks up over their heads.
She's saying, "I'm strong!"
Collecting rocks. She was proud that she was strong enough to carry them.
By the barn
Mary was making them laugh.
My mom thought it would be funny to hang from the railing
so of course David had to copy her
and of course Katie had to copy him!
Dare devil stunts
My mom, hanging around

Katie's 2nd Birthday.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Katie Elizabeth
I love you!

Katie had her 2nd birthday party on Saturday, June 13, which is lucky, because it was her actual birthday too. Her theme was Wow Wow Wubbzy, however, since she has become 2 she's totally too mature for that now and has moved on to Dora. She's talking so much now. It's amazing how quickly they grow up.

Because of Heather's wedding, I had to cut back on the games and things. We had hamburgers and hot dogs and a bouncer, and then just a pin the bow tie on Wubbzy game. I had another game that involved playdough, but the kids were all playing and doing their own thing and it was too hard to coordinate them to play the game so I just let them play in the bouncer. We did stop for the pinata.
I pulled out Katie's Up & Down rollercoaster and her sandbox for the kids to play in too.

Katherine's boyfriend, Robert, showed up and he cooked all the food for me. That was such a help. It really took the stress off of me. I really appreciated that. I've never had anyone step up like that before and I just thought it was awesome.
Katie got a ton of presents. She was so cute, closing her eyes while Mary opened them, then opening them, all surprised. She got 3 water babies, a Princess tea set, a book and book plates, clothes, blocks, and Yo Gabba Gabba singing toys. I think there was a mic in there. She loves microphones. She wants to use her tea set to eat her meals now.
The weather was breezy, but I would rather have it that way than hot. Towards the end, we had to move everything in doors because it got a bit too cold.

All in all it was a really nice day
