Pinecrest Open House

We went to David's open house at Pinecrest last week. Desiree had school and couldn't go. We got there early, before the doors were open, so the kids ran all around, playing tag. One little girl pulled Katie into the game. She played, but really had no idea what the object of the game was. She just ran in circles. Here she is. She's so excited to play.

My garden helper

I had to babysit Katie today. Heather brought her over in her PJs and she was still asleep and tired. She was unusually cranky. I gave her a bath and gave her some oatmeal then she wanted to go 'side'. That means "outside". I took her outside and was pulling weeds while she went down the slide, wrote with colored chalk, and played on her roller coaster. She decided to help me pull weeds and rake. She had chalk all over her face. Trying to help.
raking weeds. I want to build a deck here.
Picking up leaves
Going back down the slide.
Afterwards, we went to Lowe's to get a new sprinkler head for one of the sprinklers.

Later, she wanted to ride her little bike outside on the street, so I took her out to ride. She's reaching the peddles better and better, but I still have to push her. Mommy came and picked her up soon after that.

Easter Sunday

We went to the park today, and had a barbecue. We had carne asada, guacamole, chips, beans, rice, and cupcakes.

The kids played all day. Hannah, Katie and David ran around with a ball, played on the playground equipment, did a little Easter egg hunt, and had an all around good time. I'm sure they are exhausted!

The weather was really nice and warm. Katie's little shoulders have a sunburn. The kids didn't want to leave. We stayed about 4 hours.

I still don't have a camera, but Heather and Desiree have pictures on their blogs.

EdVenture Children's Museum, South Carolina

We went to the EdVenture Children's Museum in Columbia, South Carolina. Katie had a blast there, and I think Heather and David liked it more than she was. Lynn had a sprained foot so she was in a wheel chair so David had to push her around. The museum was really clean and nice. I think it's the nicest one I've been to.
They had so many cute things there. Ed is the "biggest kid in the world". His shoe is taller than Katie. He's a baptist. I say this, because just before we got into the museum, we saw a Baptist church sign that said, "kids are big at so and so baptist church". I thought that was a funny sign.

She bought a cake at the Piggly Wiggly
Here she is, counting her chickens before they're hatched.
Outside in the water area.
The Miniature Piggly Wiggly
She was shopping down the aisles.
This was a large operation game. Katie tried to eat the heart.
The camping/backyard area
They had a Curious George exhibit
This was one of her favorite things. The mat played music.
This was a sound proof room. It was so fun.

South Carolina Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

We got to the Magnolia Plantation about 1:30. It was pouring all the way up and I prayed that it would stop before we arrived. It sure did. As soon as we got off the freeway the rain totally stopped. It was so nice driving in. The plantation and the whole drive up there was beautiful. Of course, I had to try some Carolina Sweet Tea. It was wonderful!
Peacocks ran around the yard.
This is the house that we toured.

Heather took these outside photos while I was inside the house, touring.
Here, the little Southern Belle is showing off.
The plantation is 550 acres. Katie had lots of room to run.

At the petting zoo, Katie honked at a couple of ducks.
