Kids are so smart
Last night I was babysitting Katie. I gave her a bath, fed her, brushed her hair, and wanted to get her to bed. We layed on the bed and read like 10 books. When I was on the last one, I said, "now, Katie, this is the last book we're going to read, and then we're gonna go to sleep, okay". She looked at me and I wasn't sure what she understood. We read The Very Busy Spider, and then, about 3 minutes later, as I turned to the last page, her eyes got wide and she shook her head and tried to run off. I was so surprised that she understood exactly what I had said. That made me laugh. I put her to bed anyway, and told her a somewhat thrown together story of Alice in Wonderland, as I remembered it. By the time Alice fell into the rabbit hole, she was sound asleep.

Drytown at Night
Drytown is open on Friday nights, free for passholders and $3 for non-pass holders. We took the kids tonight, just to get them out. It was still warm when we got there at 6:30, and the kids had a blast. Next year I'm going to get me a water camera.

The 3 flower girls. Karli in front, Katie & Hannah behind her. They did so good. I was shocked. They did exactly what they were supposed to do.
Heather & Katie when we were getting ready. It was so hard to get pictures, get ready, and everything. It was so rushed towards the end!Sunday, July 12, 2009
Drytown
I took Katie to Drytown today, for about an hour or so. She went in the river and said hi to random people. She liked seeing the kids in the water. I took her to the playground and she played for a bit in there, but they wouldn't let me go down the slide WITH her so she wouldn't go down at all.
Katie didn't like the water splashing in her face so we had to go back into the river. She really liked floating around. She wanted to wear a green life jacket, so she did.
Afterwards, I took her to eat at McDonald's.
I had a good, relaxing time with her today, even though I didn't get as much done in the house as I had wanted to. I enjoyed spending time with her.
