I got to babysit Katie tonight. She was such a good girl. I gave her a bath and then let her eat. I'm trying to allow her to eat on her own so she can learn to use a spoon and feel more independent. I gave her yogurt, fishies, and an apple juice box.

She did pretty good with the spoon, but after a while, she figured out her hands were quicker. She's getting the hang of it.

She figured out how to put her spoon in and pull out a scoop.

She also figured out her hand could work as a shovel and began to dig in.

I gave her the spoon back and told her to be more dignified. She said she would try.

For some reason, she couldn't take her eyes off the Dr. Phil show that was playing across the room.

Still watching Dr. Phil, and still eating her yogurt.

Afterwards, she played on her zebra that I got from a yard sale for $2. She wanted to give Drowsy II a ride on it (I got her a substitute Drowsy from a yard sale last week for 50 cents so she has one for my house and one for her house. I don't know if she realizes it or not).

She got Drowsy Part II on the zebra, careful not to let her fall off.

And she stood back to watch her. Katie is amazed at how Talented DPII is. She always looks amazed at all the funny ways grandma poses her.

She decided she couldn't let DPII have all the fun, so she climbed on with her. Her hair is combed funny in these pictures because she had just gotten out of the bath and I combed it down. I guess I should have fed her first and then gave her a bath.
Oh well, we had a fun night together. I packed her a little breakfast to take with her for the morning.
She ate apple sticks, cut like french fries with the skin peeled off. They were Granny Smith and sour so she made a hilarious face when she first bit into it, but then she really liked them. She ate about 5 pieces.
Katie also learned to say "more" in sign language and I am teaching her "milk" and "cookie". Tonight, she saw a picture of Hannah and David and she said, "Hannah". I was shocked that she could say that! I didn't even say it to her first.
