So we went to Jessica McClintock today to look for a dress for Heather. They used to have a huge assortment and great prices. When we got there, there were only about 10 different styles, and they were really ugly and junky. I was so surprised because they've always had great stuff there. I haven't been there since my cousin, Christina got married about 10 or so years ago, but it's changed so much. I was really disappointed.
We then went to David's Bridal, which was very stressful. They make you register before they will let you try on dresses. They lure you in with the $99 dress, but none of the dresses are $99. Once they register you, they pick out dresses for you, based on your budget. Heather tried on about 5 dresses. I really like one of the poofy ones but she didn't like it. She got another one that is very pretty too. I'm sure she'll be a beautiful bride.
Katie and David were acting crazy in the store and Katie was sick with boogers going down her face. It was really hard and stressful. The sales people were rude and pushy and didn't give us any time to discuss in private. It was like planning for a funeral. They work on commission, so it's sell, sell, sell. I was getting annoyed and I think they saw it, so we were able to get out of there without going too broke, but it's so stressful! Everything is so overwhelming and I feel like I'm constantly sad and under pressure. I want Heather to have a wonderful wedding, but I am not rich and wish I could do more, but I really can't. Not without taking out loans and things and I just can't do that. They are talking about furloughs at my job now and I can't get myself trapped.
Debbie drove us all, which was nice. She has a van and we were able to all get down together. Debbie helped with Katie too, so that helped a lot. I just wish I had more time for the planning and saving up.
