We started out the new year with a nice hike. Me, my mom and sisters. My niece, Lauryn came along too. I had hoped my daughter, Heather could come, but she has Emma and it's hard with new babies.
We went to Placerita Canyon. It's about a 30 minute drive from home, in Santa Clarita. We went bright and early, so we could get back and enjoy the rest of the day.
I chose Placertia because a couple people aren't used to hiking and Placertia has a bathroom and pretty easy trails. I made signs for our New Year's resolutions and we filled them out when we got to the DRY waterfall.
My mom made everyone a Santa Hat. She's been crocheting for weeks.
It was California cold, so of course, I was in shorts. The crisp air was so nice and the area was beautiful early morning.
Another hiker on the trail took a picture for us. Hikers are usually the nicest people.
From my family to yours, Happy 2014!
